Press Release(PDF)

Today around 15 July 2019 around Midday, Mr Eugene Ndereyimana, disappeared mysteriously on his way to Nyagatare, Eastern Province, to meet prospective members of FDU-Inkingi. This is part of an exercise to get required members for a party to get registered.

The people who were waiting for him lost contact with him on phone around midday while he was only 5 kilometres from the meeting venue. He had last communicated with his wife in the morning while on his way to the meeting. It was later in the afternoon that the people who were waiting for him raised the alarm.

SOS RWANDA: WHEN A SYSTEM KILLS THE SOUL OF ITS PEOPLE.

Press Release(PDF)

A disingenuous falsehood targeting Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and clearly concocted by Rwandan intelligence services has demonstrated how the Rwandan people are losing their soul that used to be synonymous with moral integrity, empathy, word of honour and impartiality of a leader. This situation raises an alarm to stop this descent to hell.

Press Release (PDF)

The FDU-Inkingi has learnt with shock and disbelief that the person that the Rwandan Investigation Bureau announced as the key suspect in the murder of Mr Anselme Mutuyimana is no other than the shepherd who alerted the public over his body dumped in Gishwati forest. While this has happened, the Policemen who intercepted Mutuyimana in broad day light and whisked him away in a distinctive awaiting red car at a public parking area have not been identified by the High-Tech Rwanda Investigation Bureau, almost three months after the murder.

RWANDA: FDU-INKINGI CONDEMNS INCITEMENT TO HATRED AND VIOLENCE AGAINST MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSITION

Press Release(PDF)

During this period that Rwandans are mourning over genocide against the Tutsi, it is quite tragic and irresponsible that in this emotionally charged atmosphere, the RPF top brass led by General Kabarebe James and Dr Bizimana Jean Damascène would be drumming up hatred against members of the opposition and in particular the President of FDU-Inkingi, Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza. She is accused among other things of harbouring genocide ideology, insinuating against Tutsi. Such false accusation from the top leadership of RPF at this point in time, not only puts our leader at serious risk of violence from unsuspecting Tutsi survivors of genocide but is also a general incitement to hatred of members of her party and of other members of the political opposition.

The FDU-Inkingi takes this opportunity to condemn in the strongest terms possible any acts that violates the physical integrity of the human person.

SOS RWANDA: A STARVING PREGNANT WOMAN FALLS TO DEATH IN A CHASE BY THE RWANDAN SOLDIERS TO STOP HER FROM CROSSING INTO UGANDA.

Press Release(PDF)

Starving, pregnant and too weak to run Elisabeth Mukarugwiza fell and died as she tried to run away from soldiers who wanted to prevent her from crossing into Uganda to buy some food commodities. As she fell and died on the Ugandan side of the border one soldier is alleged to have run and picked the ID from the dead woman before the arrival of Ugandan security officer. It will not surprise if they deny her Rwandan citizenship.  The Ugandan Red ‘cross arrived too late to save her.

Women who were with the deceased were strong enough to outrun the soldiers. They stated that they were starving since the border was closed. They said that there has been very poor potato harvest in Rwanda and people depended on buying food commodities from Ugandan including flour, sweet potatoes, avocadoes, banana etc. and even went to medical services in Uganda. Responding to a journalist one of the ladies said that she does not fear to say that she does not believe the story that “President Museveni tortures Rwandans”, but that Kagame does it by denying food to his people.

Press Release (PDF)

The political trial of 9 FDU-Inkingi political prisoners resumed today 20th of March 2019, still grieving over the murder in cold blood of their former colleague, Anselme Mutuyimana whose  body was found in Gishwati forest less than 24 hours after his arrest by people in police uniform,  and in the absence of  their co accused Boniface Twagirimana, 1st Vice President of FDU-Inkingi,  who is feared dead after a mysterious disappearance from Mpanga maximum security prison. The murders seem to be annual ritual killings.  Illuminee Iragena was kidnapped in March 2016, Jean Damascene Habarugira in May 2018 and Anselme in 2019. This completes the circle that key leaders of the FDU-Inkingi are either in prison, forcedly disappeared or are dead.

ANOTHER OPPOSITION LEADER MURDERED BY RWANDA SECURITY FORCES: DONORS UK, US AND EU SHOULD STOP RWANDA DESCENDING INTO HELL AGAIN.

Press Release (PDF)

On the 9th of March 2019, 30-year-old Anselme Mutuyimana, personal assistant of a leading politician Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, president of the United Democratic Forces party, was found murdered by strangulation, a recipe of the murder in a hotel in South Africa of Colonel Patrick Karegeya critic of donor darling President Kagame, on New Year eve 2014. Unlike Patrick Karegeya he was taken in broad daylight at around 1:30 GMT in view of people at Mahoko Taxi Park by uniformed men who reassured him that he was taken for questioning. His body was found dumped in Gishwati forest. According to eye witnesses, he arrived at Mahoko car taxi around 1:00 GMT on board taxi from the capital Kigali. He rented a motorcycle taxi then a red pickup, without car plate numbers, came to block his way. Two plain clothed men came out of this vehicle and tried to bundle him into the pickup. He resisted and managed to escape their hold, but uniformed officers came out of the same vehicle and ordered him to obey orders to enter the pickup. He did not resist because he knew he was innocent and thought it could a matter a mistaken identity.

RWANDA: THE ABSENCE IN COURT OF FDU-INKINGI 1ST VICE PRESIDENT TWAGIRIMANA AND LACK OF INTEREST BY THE PROSECUTION HEIGHTEN WORST FEARS OF HIS MURDER BY STATE AGENTS.

Press Release (PDF)

Today, the 12th of February 2019, nine FDU-Inkingi martyrs for democracy, in  handcuffs and chains on their legs, were ordered to jump out of the pickup at the Nyanza court in the eyes of their spouses, children and friends. Despite the anguish caused by this unhuman and degrading treatment, the absence of their leader,  TWAGIRIMANA Boniface 1st Vice President of FDU-Inkingi was heart-breaking. The State prosecutor was to twist a knife in their hearts when asked he brushed aside their question as to why there was no thorough investigation about his alleged disappearance or why was no launch of a national or international warrant of arrest if they genuinely believed that he had evaded prison. He simply said that he believed the story of the Rwandan Correctional Service and considered Twagirimana as someone who has dodged justice.

Press Release

Three 3 months (121) after the enforced disappearance of Mr Boniface Twagirimana, 1st Vice President of FDU-Inkingi from Mpanga maximum security prison, his wife is appealing to President Kagame to help her find an answer to give to her 3- and 7-years old children who are asking her when their dad is coming home. His political family, FDU-Inkingi party and members, friends and relatives have made the same call to the Rwandan President.

RWANDA: SHOCKING AS TRIGGER-HAPPY RWANDAN POLICE MOW DOWN PRISONERS.

PRESS RELEASE (PDF)

FDU-Inkingi condemns in the strongest terms possible the murder of 5 prisoners in Huye prison in the night of the 23rd January 2019, allegedly for their attempt to escape. It calls on the government to end this barbarism that has become common in detention at Police stations and government prisons.

RWANDA : ILLEGAL DETENTION OF FDU-INKINGI POLITICAL PRISONERS EXTENDED

Press Release (PDF)

After spending more than one-year languishing in prison awaiting trial, eight FDU-Inkingi Party political prisoners who included the 1st Vice President of FDU-Inkingi, have been told  that they cannot appear in court yesterday January 8, 2019 due to an alleged outbreak of measles in all prisons in Rwanda.   A tentative date for hearing is set for February 12, 2019. We have reasons to suspect that this could be yet another delaying tactic to keep them in jail. One can hardly believe that measles, that is usually an illness of children and young people, would affect all prisons in the country and at the same time.

FDU-INKINGI’S CALL ON THE RWANDAN GOVERNMENT MOUTHPIECE “THE NEW TIMES” TO STOP ITS MALICIOUS ATTEMPTS TO DRAG ITS PRESIDENT MRS VICTOIRE INGABIRE UMUHOZA IN THE UN REPORT

Press Release (PDF)

The FDU-Inkingi would like to make it crystal that it rejects any overt or covert attempt to link Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, President of FDU-Inkingi, to any moves to use force to access to power. It is not in line with her political convictions, there is no ideological, strategic or moral imperative for the Party FDU-Inkingi to take that route to political power.
