Rwanda: POOR NEIGHBOURHOODS IN RWANDAN CAPITAL KIGALI RAISED TO THE GROUND AS PART OF A CLEANING UP EXERCISE FOR COMMONWEALTH SUMMIT.

The Rwandan capital Kigali authorities, keen to show case the Rwandan capital as the cleanest, safest in Africa: no street vendors, no beggars, no shabbily dressed people walking the streets to disturb the peace and irritate the sight of distinguished guests from the Commonwealth, are demolishing houses in poor neighbourhoods to get rid of the hideout of the excluded from the Rwandan economic miracle. The initial deadline to vacate the area was set at 15 days but later reduced to 2 or 3 days due to the short time to the summit in June 2020. The summit matters most to the ruling party and President Kagame. It is all about image; case showing the “Singapore of Africa”. The authorities allege that these areas are unsafe due to alleged potential flooding or landslides. The zeal and timing bely the official claims because some have lived in these areas for decades without a problem.  They have land titles. They were allowed to do renovation just before elections on constitutional change in 2015.

RWANDA: EXTRAORDINARY FDU-INKINGI CONGRESS HELD IN BRUSSELS DECEMBER 2019

PRESS RELEASE PDF

EXTRAORDINARY FDU-INKINGI CONGRESS HELD IN BRUSSELS DECEMBER 2019

The FDU-Inkingi held an extraordinary Congress in Brussels on 14 December 2019.

This Congress was opened by the Acting President Mr Justin Bahunga. In his speech, the Acting President explained the circumstances that led to the holding of this extraordinary congress, including the resignation of President Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and the creation of her new party. He thanked once again the former president for the sacrifices made in an attempt to press for the opening of the political space in Rwanda.

RWANDA: APPEAL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO END THE SLAUGHTER OF RWANDAN REFUGEES IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO.

PRESS RELEASE

The FDU-Inkingi condemns in the strongest terms possible the complacent attitude of the international community in the face of the slaughter of the Rwandan refugees in South Kivu by Rwandan security Forces aided by the Congolese Armed Forces. We believe that the hunt against alleged negative forces is a pretext by the Rwandan repressive regime to serve a bigger design to force Rwandan refugees back to Rwanda  or kill those who resist and to loot DRC mineral resources. The leadership of the alleged negative forces have been abducted, killed or returned to Rwanda. The alleged negative forces have therefore become a useful enemy. For example, one of the charges against Colonel Byabagamba former commander of Kagame protection unit is that he said that FDLR does not pause real threat to the security of Rwanda.

Since1996 the fight against alleged negative forces is part of an overall strategy of the Rwandan regime to force Hutu refugees to come back to Rwanda, to kill or destabilise those who resist forced return. President Kagame is on record boasting publicly “we repatriated those who had to be repatriated and shot those who had to shot” yes, we shot them he emphasized. The UN mapping report made an estimate of 200,000 Hutu refugees slaughtered by the Rwandan army (http://www.mapping-report.org/en/first-congo-war-attacks-against-hutu-refugees). In his speech in Murambi on April 7, 2007 President Kagame told the public that what saddened him was about ”those millions who have crossed the border after killing”  and “we did not have time to make sure some do not make it to their destination”. For the Rwandan regime, those who did not come back are all genocidaires or children of genocidaires who have not right to live.

FDU-INKINGI CALLS ON THE RWANDAN GOVERNMENT TO END PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE, DEGRADING AND INHUMAN TREATMENT OF ITS PRESIDENT MRS VICTOIRE INGABIRE

Press Release(PDF)

I love my country and people that I am prepared   to make any sacrifice including the ultimate sacrifice: my life, to spearhead the movement for democratic change in Rwanda”, Victoire Ingabire tells those who advised her not to  risk her life going to challenge democratically, the RPF regime in Rwanda in 2010 presidential elections. What sends shivers in the spine of the regime is that this message has gone deep in the minds of young men and women who are not deterred by death, enforced disappearances and prison from joining her. One ruling party extremist, Tom Nadir has declared that her message is like Ebola while the people of Muhanga told a journalist that local officials say that followers of FDU-Inkingi have an indelible code in their heads. The regime fears contagion and therefore Victoire Ingabire must be “isolated” as suggested by Tom.

Since the 8th October 2019, the President of the Party Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza started her ordeal of being summoned by the Rwandan investigation Bureau, to answer questions relating to an attack by an alleged rebel group in the localities of Kinigi and Burera. She has been summoned four times since October 8, 2019. She is made to sit four hours before and after interrogation sessions lasting hours and sometime like on 15th October 2019, she called to sit even though they know she cannot be interrogated without her lawyer. She is to undergo another interrogation on 16 October 2019. All these seems to be done as a psychological ploy to wear down her mental capabilities and to humiliate her. Ironically this is the date that the 1st vice president of FDU-Inkingi, Boniface Twagirimana disappeared mysteriously from Mpanga international maximum-security prison one year ago.

RWANDA: COMPARING FDU-INKINGI CHAIRPERSON TO “EBOLA” IS AN INCITEMENT TO HATRED AND VIOLENCE AGAINST HER.

PDF

In an article that appeared in the pro-government paper, “Igihe” of July 31, 2019, allegedly controlled by the Rwandan intelligence services, Mr Tom Ndahiro, a researcher in the Rwandan National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide (CNLG), mounted a hateful campaign against Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, President of FDU-Inkingi. He dared to compare her to Ebola,   a rare and deadly disease that is on rampage in some African countries.

He called on the public to avoid her lest they are contaminated by her political ideology. It was published in native language, Kinyarwanda, in order to reach the highest number of Rwandans. This article is by all standards a breach of the law:

RWANDA: FDU-INKINGI MEMBER UNACCOUNTED FOR 48 HOURS AFTER HIS DISAPPEARANCE

Press Release

Today 17 July 2019, 48 hours after the disappearance of Mr Eugene Ndereyimana, the FDU-Inkingi are still very concerned about his fate. This is the time required by Rwandan laws before someone can report a person as missing.

SOS RWANDA: ANOTHER FDU-INKINGI MEMBER, EUGENE NDEREYIMANA, DISAPPEARS MYSTERIOUSLY

Press Release(PDF)

Today around 15 July 2019 around Midday, Mr Eugene Ndereyimana, disappeared mysteriously on his way to Nyagatare, Eastern Province, to meet prospective members of FDU-Inkingi. This is part of an exercise to get required members for a party to get registered.

The people who were waiting for him lost contact with him on phone around midday while he was only 5 kilometres from the meeting venue. He had last communicated with his wife in the morning while on his way to the meeting. It was later in the afternoon that the people who were waiting for him raised the alarm.

SOS RWANDA: WHEN A SYSTEM KILLS THE SOUL OF ITS PEOPLE.

Press Release(PDF)

A disingenuous falsehood targeting Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and clearly concocted by Rwandan intelligence services has demonstrated how the Rwandan people are losing their soul that used to be synonymous with moral integrity, empathy, word of honour and impartiality of a leader. This situation raises an alarm to stop this descent to hell.

RWANDA LATEST SCANDAL: THE SHEPHERD WHO RAISED ALARM OVER THE DUMPED BODY OF MURDERED ANSELME MUTUYIMANA ARRESTED BY THE RWANDAN INVESTIGATION BUREAU.

Press Release (PDF)

The FDU-Inkingi has learnt with shock and disbelief that the person that the Rwandan Investigation Bureau announced as the key suspect in the murder of Mr Anselme Mutuyimana is no other than the shepherd who alerted the public over his body dumped in Gishwati forest. While this has happened, the Policemen who intercepted Mutuyimana in broad day light and whisked him away in a distinctive awaiting red car at a public parking area have not been identified by the High-Tech Rwanda Investigation Bureau, almost three months after the murder.

RWANDA: FDU-INKINGI CONDEMNS INCITEMENT TO HATRED AND VIOLENCE AGAINST MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSITION

Press Release(PDF)

During this period that Rwandans are mourning over genocide against the Tutsi, it is quite tragic and irresponsible that in this emotionally charged atmosphere, the RPF top brass led by General Kabarebe James and Dr Bizimana Jean Damascène would be drumming up hatred against members of the opposition and in particular the President of FDU-Inkingi, Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza. She is accused among other things of harbouring genocide ideology, insinuating against Tutsi. Such false accusation from the top leadership of RPF at this point in time, not only puts our leader at serious risk of violence from unsuspecting Tutsi survivors of genocide but is also a general incitement to hatred of members of her party and of other members of the political opposition.

ON THE OCCASION OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF GENOCIDE IN RWANDA, THE FDU-INKINGI JOINS ALL VICTIMS OF THE RWANDAN TRAGEDY IN THEIR MOURING

Press Release(PDF)

At this time of painful memories for the entire Rwandan people, the FDU-INKINGI join all the victims of the genocide against the Tutsis and other mass crimes and crimes against humanity, and of other crimes  considered to be genocide but not yet officially acknowledged as such, in  mourning their loved ones killed a quarter of a century ago. The FDU-Inkingi takes this opportunity to condemn in the strongest terms possible any acts that violates the physical integrity of the human person.

SOS RWANDA: A STARVING PREGNANT WOMAN FALLS TO DEATH IN A CHASE BY THE RWANDAN SOLDIERS TO STOP HER FROM CROSSING INTO UGANDA.

Press Release(PDF)

Starving, pregnant and too weak to run Elisabeth Mukarugwiza fell and died as she tried to run away from soldiers who wanted to prevent her from crossing into Uganda to buy some food commodities. As she fell and died on the Ugandan side of the border one soldier is alleged to have run and picked the ID from the dead woman before the arrival of Ugandan security officer. It will not surprise if they deny her Rwandan citizenship.  The Ugandan Red ‘cross arrived too late to save her.

Women who were with the deceased were strong enough to outrun the soldiers. They stated that they were starving since the border was closed. They said that there has been very poor potato harvest in Rwanda and people depended on buying food commodities from Ugandan including flour, sweet potatoes, avocadoes, banana etc. and even went to medical services in Uganda. Responding to a journalist one of the ladies said that she does not fear to say that she does not believe the story that “President Museveni tortures Rwandans”, but that Kagame does it by denying food to his people.
